Youth Learn To Row Camps Grades 7-12
Our experienced, certified coaching staff and seasoned athlete-volunteers make the LCRA camp experience like no other. Campers will learn about the sport through hands-on experience in eight and four-person rowing shells. Campers will learn rowing safety, boat handling, terminology, and beginner thru advanced rowing technique all while enjoying beautiful Lake Minneola. The camps are an excellent experience for rowers who may wish to join one of our squads in the fall! Camps are open to all students entering 7th grade and above. No experience is necessary. Rowers will spend time learning the basics of rowing via land training, video sessions, and rowing on the water.Â
Â
Each Learn to Row Camp is a two week session and kids looking to continue building skills after their first camp can register for multiple sessions. Campers are welcome for one session, two sessions or all three sessions. We recommend that your youth athlete registers for more than one session to gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the wonderful world of rowing and to learn what crew life is all about.Â
Â
The summer camp season will culminate in an exciting opportunity to travel to Daytona Beach, FL and compete at the Annual Halifax Summer Regatta on July 26th. LTR athletes need to demonstrate sufficient proficiency to meet safety standards in order to participate (determined by coaches). See the regatta information at the bottom of this page. *Regatta expenses are not included.Â
