Team Training & Visiting Rowers
Lake County Rowing maintains a 2,000m Olympic style buoyed race course (one of two in Florida) that allows for eight (8) rowing lanes and we have two first-class AccuDock docks for boat launches and regattas.
The Clermont Boathouse was designed by competitive rowers with competitive team rowing in mind. Located directly in the center of the State of Florida (each coast is about 1.5 hours away and the Orlando theme parks are 45 minutes away), rowers can easily walk or bike through Clermont’s Victory Pointe to downtown Clermont to explore local restaurants and shops.
The Boathouse is located on beautiful Lake Minneola, a 10,000m perimeter freshwater lake and part of the Palatlakaha River Chain, one of Central Florida’s premier chain-of-lake systems which provides thousands of meters of protected water regardless of the direction of the wind. It’s a great location for the numerous university and high school teams that come here to train each winter and spring.
Amenities available to individuals and teams for training include the South Lake Trail, Concept Model E ergometers with PM4 and PM5 compatible monitors, coaching launches, small boats (e.g., racing and recreational singles, doubles, and pairs), air conditioned men’s and women’s bathrooms, safe and secure (locked) outside storage for trailers and shells with limited space inside the boathouse for specialized equipment, and 50″ television for video and training reviews and high speed internet.
