CoachKim@RowLCRA.org
Coach Kim is a Floridian and loves playing sports. Her competitiveness began as far back as grade school running track and field, cross country and performing in the marching and concert bands. In college she studied Chinese martial arts and competed on the Equestrian Team. She started her equestrian college riding career in the walk/trot division and collected ribbons along the way to finishing just shy of the open division.
Coach Kim has a B.S. in Physical Education. She taught middle school physical education for several years and middle school girls basketball. Afterwards, she went back to school and earned a B.S. in Equine Studies with a Concentration in Equine Physical Therapy. In 2015, she moved from Winter Garden to Clermont and continued working as a large animal Veterinary Technician and Equine Physical Therapist.
In April 2021, Kim started rowing and that’s where her love for rowing began. She has progressed to the Advanced Competitive Team and now is one of the two Women’s Team Captains. In February 2023, she placed first in her age group at Southern Sprints and holds a USRowing Level 1 Certification. She looks forward to teaching middle-schoolers the art of rowing and in the process she hopes they develop a love for rowing, too. Coach Kim enjoys how rowing challenges you mentally as well as physically and the serenity of being on the water especially with her teammates. When Coach Kim is not on the water or at work, she’s spending time with her loving church family.
